The Demon King (Seven Realms: Book 1)

A thousand years ago The terrible Demon King, a powerful wizard, abducted Queen Hellena and held her captive at his stronghold and held off armies of wizards and warriors from all the Fells. He sundered and shattered the world to keep his prize, but was defeated all the same. As punishment the Spirit Clans of the Mountains destroyed all of the wizard talismans they find. Wizards could no longer marry the Queen of the Fells, and other constrictions were made upon the wizards.

Today tensions have begun to escalate as Queen Marianna continues to show favoritism towards High Wizard Gavan Bryar. Civil war for the Crown between brothers have been going on for almost a decade to the south. Men leave for the war as mercenaries in droves to find a way to feed their families. leading to the hiring of foreign mercenaries to serve as the regular army. The City Guard is littered with the corrupt and unjust.

the city streets are ruled by two major gangs. The district closest to Fellsmarch Castle is called South Bridge, the nobles and/or their servants gather to buy whatever they may need and it's not unusual for some of them to find some things missing, the members from the major gang that rules South Bridge are called "southies".The poor quarter is called "Ragmarket". Hanson "Cuffs" Alister, former Street-Lord of Ragmarket, struggles to scrape an honest living for his widowed mother and innocent younger sister.

Raisa ana'Marianna is the elder of the two daughters of Queen Marianna ana'Lissa (and the Royal Consort Averill Lightfoot Demonai, of the Demonai Spirit Clan). And her Coming of Age ceremony is fast approaching, and so are marriage proposals. She wants to enjoy things as they are for the time being, but fate will not so easily allow such things.
